Overview
The Southern African savannah sits below comfortable humidity levels for most of the year — yet the humidifier market is almost entirely designed for Northern Hemisphere climates. This project started with that gap.
The brief was to design a smart humidifier that addresses indoor dryness for health-conscious young professionals — quiet, compact, easy to maintain, and premium enough to sit on a nightstand without looking like a medical device.
The process covered market research with 47 participants, competitor analysis across 7 brands, three CAD concept iterations, CMF development across three colorways, full brand identity design, and a UI concept for the companion app.
Design Direction
The final form is soft, portable, and considered — a rounded rectangular shell with a speckled finish, a semi-circular lid that lifts for easy refilling, and a minimal control panel. Three colorways: Off-White, Dark Air Force Blue, and Pale Orange.


Brand Design
Aeris — Latin for air. A brand designed to carry future products beyond the PureMist: purifiers, diffusers, advanced humidifiers. The visual identity is minimal and confident — Charcoal, Atomic Tangerine, and Off-White across a Poppins-led typographic system.
